Bagged Stone Delivery Options:

20mm Ballast

For general building our 20mm ballast is suitable for many purposes. These include mixing concrete for foundations and footings, and making a concrete slab for your conservatory, shed, garden or extension. Uses in the garden further extend to making foundations for garden walls, concreting in fence posts and making paths. For general concrete mix use 1 part cement to 6 parts ballast. Where everything is dry, a water cement ration of 0.55 should be used. As a guide when your concrete is mixed and ready to use it should be able to support itself, in a heap, on a shovel.

DOT Type 1 – Limestone

Often referred to as Type 1 or DOT, this is the Limestone variation of the Department of Transport approved granular sub-base material. We refer to it as DOT Type 1 – Limestone.
Literally crushed limestone, meeting the requirement of the Depart of Transport specification for Highways works, clause 803. This is a high-quality fill or subbase aggregate and is often used in the construction of car parks, driveways and highways. Although slighter more expensive than scalpings it is also for other light-use applications such as paths and patios, where in comparison, it tends to be more solid and stable over time.
